There's a lot of "new" bromances going around these days, with RDJ&LJ and the guys on the soap opera playing the gay couple, and for awhile Pinto. It's always a newfound squee of "omg how can they even!?! idek " type friendship. And that is a lot of what creates new RPS fandoms again and again- and fen say the same things again and again in response to new "omg how can they even!?! idek " bromances.
I don't think any of them are false. But it's also like each bromance has a lifespan. At first when the movie is newly out, or the storyline is finally getting attention, they're giggly and dorkily pleased with each other; too much on an excited, attention and success high to bother hiding it. They talk about each other a lot even if they don't need to mention one another, go places together even when they don't have to. Then the second stage, they get less touchy-feely, are a bit calmer and more settled with one another in interviews, are still friends but not in that honeymoon flush. Then the stumping is done, and the spree of press and events is done, the movie fades from public awareness, and you believe they're still close but there's nothing to go on to prove it.
