I’d seen and talked to Tommy before up close and personal at Gridlock, but I’d never seen him this relaxed and pretty. Before he came up to us, he was laughing and joking with a young man that I didn’t know, perhaps one of Ori’s band members; a sandy curly haired young man about the same height as him, and he was laughing and joking with him. When Adam came out, just before he went into the meet and greet, he gave Tommy a big, full on hug, standing right next to the curly haired guy. Then he went into the press portion of the meet and greet. It was sweet and just typical Adam.
That left Tommy with us. When he found out who we were, he gave me a big hug. He was a sweetie and posed to take pictures with both myself and my husband, who actually called him “pretty”! He was warm, genuine, and didn’t seem at all rushed with us, which I really appreciated. Then Cam came to us and we were able to introduce ourselves and take pictures with her as well. Meanwhile, Neil continued to check on us and wait for us to get our pictures made, and continued to try to break Monte away to meet us.
Then the last of the press and the other 4 guests were through with Adam, and Neil took us in. I got 2 big hugs from Adam, and teased about the size of his receipt envelope in relationship to everyone else’s. Since this was a surprise meeting; we didn’t have anything for Adam to sign, so Neil went and found a promo picture for us so that Adam could sign it. Some of you know that I got to spend a day backstage with the Idols on the Idol tour last year, so I had seen Adam offstage before, but he seemed so truly radiant, happy, relaxed, and was breathtakingly beautiful. No pictures do him justice, truly. There is a light in his eyes that seem to come from a truly beautiful soul, and he took his time and talked to me and to my husband, and not only did Neil take pictures for us, but a professional photographer did as well. Before we left, I showed him the picture of him and my husband that many of you have seen, that was taken at Gridlock. It is currently the wallpaper on my phone. As usual, he said “AWWW”. I didn’t remember to tell him that my husband uses that as the desktop for his laptop as well. Another great Adam meeting; one I’ll cherish even more because it was unexpected and because Neil hovered to make sure everything went perfectly. Neil took the envelopes for Longineu and Monte, and promised to get them to them.
